Rangers Acquire Danny Kristo

The Rangers have acquired RW Danny Kristo from Montreal for Christian Thomas.

While I’m sure many will disagree, I’ve always been bearish on Thomas, and I would rate this as a very good trade for the Rangers. While Thomas definitely has higher upside than Kristo, I think the probability of him reaching it is minuscule. Kristo represents a safer bet than Thomas, as his game is better rounded.

Kristo, at 23, is almost two years older than Thomas.

Last season, in his senior year at North Dakota, Kristo had 26 goals and 26 assists in 40 games. He also made a cameo with Hamilton of the AHL after his college season finished, registering 3 assists in 9 games.
