Per the Rangers’ official twitter account:
"(My wrist) is noticeably better than what I was playing through last season, though still not 100%…it's progressing good"-J.T. Miller
— New York Rangers (@NYRangers) July 23, 2013
While, for me, the poor grammar overrides the good news, if you’re a high-functioning human-being, this likely nets to good news. Miller was sent home mid-way during the Rangers’ playoff drive due to his wrist injury.
It will be interesting to see what kind of season Miller has, and where he has it. Miller struggled at the NHL level last season, but still got into 26 games due to (a) a lack of other options and (b) Tortorella’s affinity for him. Now, the team’s depth have improved, and Tortorella is no longer coach. The Rangers can delay Miller’s unrestricted free agency if he is not on the roster for at least 40 NHL games this season.
