Rangers Look to Take 2-0 Series Lead for First Time in 2015

Up 1-0 for the third straight series, the Rangers look to take their first 2-0 series lead of the 2015 playoffs. Last year, the third time was the charm for the Rangers as they grabbed a 2-0 lead in the Conference Finals against Montreal after failing to do so against Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.

The Rangers won game 1 by a 2-1 score after a fortunate bounce of Dom Moore’s knee. Though the game decider was fortunate, it was a strong overall game from the Rangers. They had a 54-37 edge in total shot attempts at 5-on-5, and an 18-13 edge in scoring chances.

Lightning coach Jon Cooper says he wants to see the Lightning to play more physical against the Rangers in Game 2.

Mats Zuccarello skated in full gear today. Zuccarello has been out of the lineup since April 24th with a probable concussion. There’s still no timetable for his return, but his return would obviously be a big boost to the Rangers’ lineup.

Game time is 8:00.
