Preview: Rangers Host the Senators

The Rangers return home tonight to take on the Senators.  Game time is 7pm.  This is the only meeting between the two teams at Madison Square Garden this season.  The other two will be in Ottawa near the end of the regular season.

Senators Notes:

-They are 18-18-8 on the season, and are currently 10 points behind Boston for the second wildcard spot.

Preview: Rangers vs. Blue Jackets

The Rangers (24-13-4) take on the Columbus Blue Jackets (18-20-3) tonight at Nationwide arena.  Game time is 7pm.  The two teams have faced off once this season, with Columbus winning 5-2.  That game was the Rangers second of the season, and Cam Talbot was in net.

Report: Rangers and Staal Closing in on 6 Year Deal

Larry Brooks reports that the Rangers and Marc Staal are nearing an agreement on a 6 year deal worth 5.6-5.9 million per year.  He cautions that the deal is not done yet, but Staal’s agent had productive talks with Assistant GM Jeff Gorton on Tuesday.

The Rangers (24-13-4) were defeated by the Boston Bruins by a score of 3-0. For the scoring report see this image below courtesy of NHL.com. Cam Talbot made 29 saves, the Rangers took 30 shots on goal.

Preview: Rangers Vs. Bruins

The Rangers head to Boston tonight to take on the Bruins.  Game time is 7pm.

Bruins Notes:

-They are 23-15-6 on the season, and currently hold the second wildcard spot in the conference.

-They have been a stronger team at home this season, with a record of 14-6-4 as opposed to a record of 9-9-2 on the road. Read more
